Classic 1972 Beetle 1300 Rare ‘Marathon’ Special Edition

….With great sadness, this is my 1972 Marathon Beetle for sale.92,000 Miles (covered 3,000 in the last 15 years)Serviced recentlyMOT til October 2018, although as of May this year it is now MOT exempt, along with all vehicles over 40 years old.Tax exemptInsurance is less than £150 a year so with the Tax and MOT exemption it makes it a very cheap car to run.Comes with the 70’s metal/wood roof rack. It’s a special edition ‘Marathon’ Beetle. Only 1500 where brought to the UK. These were made to celebrate the Beetle becoming the most produced car in history, overtaking the Ford Model T. They include a one off paint ‘marathon metallic’ and one off Lemmerz ‘marathon’ sport wheels. Overall in really good condition, the interior is really clean. The only rust is around the nearside wheel arches. The offside rear has a small ding. Being 48 years old it does show signs of age of course. The engine is sweet, ticks over nicely, starts from cold with no problem, goes through the gears to over 70mph. Surprisingly nippy for an old 1300.I have driven it all over the country including several Cornwall to Bristol runs with no problems. I bought it off my father in law, a mechanic who bought it off a lady who had owned it from new. He had been working on it since the early 80’s. It was dry stored from 2002 to 2015 when he bought it off her. She kept all the receipts and service records including the original purchase invoice and the certificate with medal, as seen in the pictures. Unfortunately it’s not getting used as much as I’d like and I’m struggling for money after being off work so it needs a new home. Located in Penryn, Cornwall. You are welcome to come for a viewing and test drive. Please come to view before bidding. I will delete any bids from users with less than 10 feedback, if they haven’t been to view. Please restore my faith in eBay selling, if you don’t have any intention of buying it or don’t have the money, please don’t bid. I cannot afford to waste another week relisting Thanks for looking, Alex

VW Beetle 1300

….1971 VW Beetle 1300 in Graphite Metallic Grey. Purchased in 2001 following a total body restoration. Underwent a partial renovation in 2012 with new wings, glass, new seals and a total respray. It has very recently benefited from some minor mechanical work and has passed a voluntary MoT with no advisories. It has had 6 previous keepers, the last 2 being within the family. Currently on approximately 14500 recorded miles (since its rebuild in the late 80s). This is an excellent example of a classic VW Beetle. 1971 VW Classic Beetle 1300 Very original and well cared for

….Having spent the last few years creating the Beetle that I’ve always wanted, I’ve decided that it’s time to move on, always the way 1971 1300 Beetle in very solid and original condition, was dry stored for years before I bought it and I’ve always garaged it and only driven it in the dry. 74,000 [ish] on the clock, original engine. Just passed it’s MOT with no advisories and is obviously tax exempt. I tried to keep everything as original as possible, the only exceptions being, Sprint Star wheels, CB dropped spindles, with uprated roll bar at the front and a 1 Spline drop at the rear. It’s also got brand new KYB shocks all round and a brand new clutch. All in all I think it’s a well looked after and thoroughly sorted solid car which runs and drives beautifully, ready for some summer fun. Loads of photos available [pm for details] Located in Chester £4500ono

An Amazing Volkswagen Beetle 1300 with Only 52,990 Miles and Full History

KGF Classic Cars VW 1200 Air Cooled Bug Camper

….An Amazing Volkswagen Beetle 1300 with Only 52,990 Miles and Full History KGF Classic Cars VW 1200 Air Cooled Bug Camper £6,995.00 Make Volkswagen Model 1300 BEETLE Year 1972 Transmission Manual Fuel Petrol Engine Size 1,285 ccm Mileage 52,990 Miles Emission class — FOR SALEAn amazing Volkswagen Beetle 1300 with only 52,990 miles and full history.EQUIPMENTChrome window trim, chrome bumpers, chrome wheel covers, running boards, horn pad with Wolfsburg crest, hazard lights, dash illumination adjustment, interior light, collapsible steering column, fuel gauge, assist straps, headlight flasher, bezel vents, sill vents, glove box, driver’s door pocket, twin sunvisors, grab handle, coat hooks. Dealer options: Radiomobile push-button stereo.EXTERIORThe unmodified, unspoilt and preserved nature of this delightful Beetle 1300 is truly wonderful and fondly reminiscent of a far simpler motoring age. Finished in Volkswagen Kasan Red/Kasanrot, (Code L30B), the vibrant finish to the paintwork is superb with only very light imperfections consisting of touched in marks and thin paint on bonnet edges from years of overzealous polishing. All utterly insignificant. The factory panels are damage free and uniformly even and the doors shut with a reassuring thud. The underside is excellent and free from excess applied underseal. Originality seekers will delight at the original VW etched glass badges and inner door shut stickers. Even the octane sticker to the inside of the petrol flap remains fitted! All chrome bumpers and trim pieces are intact and boast a brilliant shine. A delightfully humble and unmolested example of a motoring icon.INTERIORThe original black leatherette interior is spotless with all seats and matching door cards fully intact and remarkably free from wear. The factory fitted padded steering wheel with Wolfsburg crest is pristine, as is all other fully functioning controls and switchgear, including the Radiomobile push-button stereo. The factory sticker to the inner glovebox lid remains and the headlining is clean, fully intact and displays only very light discolouration around the rear seams. The front luggage compartment displays factory plates and stickers and houses the original spare wheel still feeding the pneumatic washer system, a system sadly often removed in favour of an electric washer pump. Ten years ago, the previous long-term owner found a Two Shilling coin underneath the carpet dated near the cars production and sentiment/superstition has led him to insist it remained there when he sold the car!ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe matching numbers standard air-cooled rear mounted engine produces 52bhp from its 1285cc displacement enabling a top speed of 78mph with the unmistakable Beetle engine note delightfully pronounced but completely unobtrusive. The engine bay is amazingly clean, exactly as Volkswagen intended and incredibly the original, yet now arguably primitive, Volkswagen diagnostics plug remains fitted! The fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox works perfectly offering light and precise gear changes.WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKESThe original pressed steel wheels are dressed in immaculate chrome half wheel covers and shod in branded 155 R15 tyres with excellent tread remaining. Dual circuit drums front and rear operate freely, offering modest yet perfectly adequate stopping power when compared to modern vehicles, exactly as they were made!HISTORY FILERegistered new on the 13th October 1972, the supplying Volkswagen Main Dealer was Walter Scott Ltd of Pavillion Road, London. This incredible Beetle 1300 has covered a genuine warranted 52,990 miles from new with just three former keepers. Only very rarely does a classic car come with such an amazing history file, which in this instance begins with the original service booklet containing the supplying dealer stamp plus a further 39 stamped entries from 1972 to 2017! Each entry records the date and mileage to fully verify the authenticity and illustrate the cars continual enjoyment throughout the last 46 years. Furthermore, a huge history folder is beautifully presented with many previous MOT certificates and specialist invoices for service and maintenance work, including a rebuild of the original Solex carburettor in 2016. A feature in Classsic Car Weekly dated March 2008 is full of glowing praise when it was advertised for sale at £5,995. All original handbooks, guides, warranty book and dealership literature have been kept along with two sets of keys and an original sales brochure. Even the VW Diagnosis Punch Card Booklet with the original build sticker is present!A car that has thankfully evaded the modifiers, neglectful owners and scrappage schemes to now remain one of the best unmolested examples available. Indepedent inspections also welcome Friendly and knowledgable team can also assist with insured logistics and finance arrangements About us KGF Classic Cars was formed by the owner’s desire to pass on the enjoyment of amazingly original, modern classic cars and the pleasure these vehicles offer to their appreciative owners. The eldest son of Italian-born parents – whose families came to the Cambridgeshire Fens after WWII to make bricks for new housing – Karl Fasulo grew up in the 70s and 80s when there were fewer cars on the roads. His appreciation of beautiful motors began when his engineer father, Sav, purchased a red 1983 Mercedes 280SL as a weekend car back in 1985. That same Mercedes is still well-loved and driven regularly by Karl and is now in the showroom for all to see! After a successful career spanning two decades selling and managing premium vehicles for dealerships in London and Cambridgeshire, Karl decided to set up KGF Classic Cars, to source original, modern classic cars and share them with like-minded knights of the road.He says: “As a kid, I would squeeze in the back of our lovely red Mercedes with my brother and sister (seatbelts were not mandatory at that time!) – Mum and Dad in the front and all of us enjoying the outing. I would gaze out at other cars and my brother and I would shout out all the makes and models of the ones going by! “With encouragement from my father, I entered the world of classic cars at 15, when I saved up and bought a 1964 Riley Elf Mk 2. This car was cleaned and polished every weekend until I was 17 when I threw away my L-plates and took to the road. My interest never subsided, even during my career at BMW – to the point where driving these older cars gave me more pleasure than the modern offerings. Perhaps it is just happy childhood memories, but there is something about those classics which draws me back to them every time . . .” He added: “I consider it a privilege to meet and do business with people who love them as much as I do. So, whether you are buying or selling – or just browsing (taking a spin down memory lane, perhaps!) I hope you enjoy this website.”All the vehicles offered by KGF Classic Cars are personally checked, meticulously inspected and driven by us to ensure they meet the incredibly high standards that are becoming very hard to find. The cars are eventually selected with the ultimate aim of providing the new owner with the best possible experience of that model, whatever it may be.
