….1974 Cal (ish) look 1300 Beetle for sale: Black (original colour was a light blue)1300ccResto and conversion carried out by BeetlelinkMOT until May 2019 (although I think legislation is changing so after that it won’t need one)6 former keepers on the V5No tax requiredCheap classic insuranceFibreglass day moulding wingsScat quick shifter I’ve owned this beetle for around 2 years after buying it from a workmate. I think that it was the owner before him that had a very big restoration carried out on the car for by Beetlelink. I have the receipts for this which amount to an eye watering £5780. I’ve got the photos of this and have added a couple to the advert (last two). I bought the car as a stop gap while my long term project car was off the road and it was an itch that I never scratched having minis in my youth but have really enjoyed it and probably wouldn’t sell but I’ve found myself a bit ‘car heavy’ meaning that it’s not really getting used and with my time and parking space at a premium it is probably time to let someone else enjoy it. Since I’ve owned it the car has been well looked after, I’ve: Serviced it (obviously)Put a new brake master cylinder on it because the brakes were binding.New front discs and pads.New front seats.New rear seatbeltsReplaced the wheels and tyres. Tyres are Pirelli with lots of tread.Replaced all the rusty old wings with good quality fibreglass wings (Day Mouldings)New rear lights and lenses.New headlamps (with replaceable bulbs) Had various bits of welding done so all in all it’s pretty solid. Last year it needed some work on the RH heater channel and LH rear arch for the MOT. This is a 44 year old car so there are some not so good bits too – The paint is basically a rattle can finish apart from the wings and rear lights that are unpainted so nice and easy to touch up but maybe not one for people after a show car shine! There are a couple of bits of corrosion, these are on the rear valance (which is cheap and easy to replace), drivers side floor and front beam. All are ok & nothing serious but worth mentioning. Engine drops a bit of oil (don’t they all!). I think this is the oil cooler seals. Engine has no noticeable end float. Both doors are a bit flappy at the bottom. The photos are not the best because every time I go to take some it chucks it down with rain so a couple are a few months old. If you want to see anything specific, just ask & I’ll see what I can do. I’ve got some spares to go with the car (depending on the sale price). These include a pair of replacement doors, a new exhaust, heater cables, original air filter, shiny pulley etc etc Asking price is £2200Payment to be cash on collection or bank transfer. No Paypal please. Car is located in Amersham, Bucks Thanks for looking.
